On December 22, 1995 (the first day of the winter lunar month), Prince Shrivu of Cambodia went into exile in France.

On December 22, 1995, Prince Norodom Shrivu, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Royal Government of Cambodia and Secretary-General of the ruling Funcinpec Party, left Phnom Penh by plane and traveled to France via Singapore to live in exile.

On November 18, 1995, he was detained on suspicion of murdering Second Prime Minister Hun Sen.

Prince Shrivu is the half-brother of King Norodom Sihanouk. King Sihanouk wrote to Hun Sen, asking him to "forgive Prince Norodom Shrivou by being expelled from Cambodia and exiled into France." According to the agreement reached between King Norodom Sihanouk and Hun Sen, Prince Srivod was released from the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia on the 19th.
