On April 22, 1972, two Britons, John Fairfax (33) and Sylvia Cook (31), landed today on Hyman Island near Australia. The two are in good physical condition, except for blisters on their hands. The pair, who rowed across the Pacific for the first time, set out in San Francisco a year ago. They traveled 8000 miles in a $5000 rowing boat filled with food and water.
