July 20, 1939 - The Communist Party of China established the China Women's University in Yan'an. Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and other leaders of the CPC Central Committee attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. China Women's University trained a group of women cadres and was merged into Yan 'an University in September 1941. China Women's University: A school established by the Communist Party of China in order to train women cadres and attract patriotic female intellectual youth from enemy-occupied areas to participate in the anti-Japanese and national rescue work. It was founded in Yan'an on July 10, 1939. The school is located in an earthen cave dwelling near the north gate of Yan'an. The principal was originally Wang Ming, and later served by Li Fuchun. The vice principals were Ke Qingshi and Lin Sha, the head of education Zhang Qinqiu, and the head of the general affairs office, Wu Chaoxiang. There are more than 1,000 people in the school, from 21 provinces across the country (including Taiwan). Among them are female workers who participated in the "12/9" movement, lesbians who have just escaped from enemy prisons, female workers and peasants cadres who have gone through the Long March, and young female students from enemy-occupied areas. In terms of education level, there are college students, middle school students, and female warriors who are illiterate but have rich combat experience. The average age is between 18 and 22 years old. The school is divided into ordinary classes, advanced classes, Shaanxi dry class and special classes according to the educational level of the students. The students of the ordinary class are patriotic young women of high or junior high school level from the enemy-occupied areas. In the advanced class, some are women leading cadres from the Red Army, and some are senior female intellectuals from the enemy-occupied areas. The Shaanxi dry class is dedicated to training women working cadres in the border areas. The special class is a worker and peasant cadre who has gone through the Long March and has some combat experience but has a lower cultural level. The education policy of the "Women's University" is based on Mao Zedong's "centering on the study of the practical problems of the Chinese revolution and guided by the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism." It abolishes the policy of studying Marxism-Leninism in a static and isolated manner, and advocates a style of study that combines theory and practice. Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, (history today) Deng Yingchao, Bogu and others have personally taught the history of the Communist Party of China to the "Women's University". Political classes mainly include political economy, history of social development, modern history, anti-Japanese guerrilla war and the Anti-Japanese National United Front, new democracy, issues of the Communist Party of China, women's movement, etc. The advanced class is also divided into departments of Marxism-Leninism, political economy, and Chinese issues. Students can participate in a certain department for special research according to their own situation. In September 1940, the advanced class expanded to more than 90 people. The special class includes literacy classes, political classes, and women's work. In addition, there are elective courses, foreign language courses, journalism shorthand techniques, accounting, medicine, and other vocational courses. Most of the instructors are cadres of various organs who serve concurrently. In the years when material life was extremely difficult in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, the school put forward the call of "half farming and half learning". Students started their own work and cultivated vegetables. The equipment of the "Women's University" is very simple. Classes are set up in caves on rainy days and in the woods on sunny days. Although life is difficult, the students are full of spirits, happy and healthy. The "Women's University" has successively sent more than 1000 outstanding women cadres to various troops, and they have made contributions to the revolution. In September 1941, Women's University merged with other schools and became Yan 'an University. Nearly a hundred women at the China Women's University in Yan'an have shown extraordinary lives, as well as the pain and glory engraved in their lives by fire and sword, and many secrets and stories remain unknown to this day.
