She said that large-scale forest fires broke out in many places in Spain within 20 days at the same time, and now they finally "came to an end". However, as it is still in the season of high forest fires, disaster prevention actions are still continuing, and the government will continue to maintain a state of alert and "mobilize all available resources of the state for continuous monitoring".

Spanish authorities received a total of 93 reports of forest fires in August, 59 of which reached a second-level early warning; 39 of the fires over 500 hectares were identified as "major fires".

Citing data from the European Forest Fire Information System, Agence France-Presse reported that more than 350,000 hectares of forest fires burned in Spain in August, the most since records began in 2006, and the damage was particularly severe in the north and west. The round of forest fires killed 4 people, injured 48 people and evacuated thousands of people.

The Spanish government has used all fire-fighting resources, and many European countries have also sent fire-fighting forces to support fire-fighting.
