President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was attending the twenty-fifth meeting of the Council of Heads of State members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in China, met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shabaz Sharif.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed Turkey's bilateral relations with Pakistan as well as regional and global issues. During the talks, President Erdogan said that Turkey and Pakistan are committed to strengthening cooperation in many fields, especially in the fields of trade, energy, defense industry and security. President Erdogan expressed his satisfaction at the development of Pakistan's relations with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and noted that the unity displayed in this regard is appreciable.
President Erdogan emphasized Israel's attempt to expand its genocidal policy in Gaza, highlighting that Turkey and Pakistan share the same position in opposing the genocide and said the two countries will continue to coordinate and cooperate.
President Erdogan stressed that the unity and territorial integrity of Syria are of paramount importance to Turkey, stressing that Turkey firmly opposes any attitude or action aimed at destabilizing Syria.
