What are the highlights of the Tianjin SCO Summit and how significant is it to China?

The Summit of Tianjin has officially opened. But what will be the highlights of this summit? How much does it mean to China? How is the world’s strategic pattern changing? First, for the Summit of Tianjin, it is a major turning point. Because it is the largest summit in the history of the Summit. At the summit, not only the heads of the three leaders of China and Russia, the head of India, who just fought the “5-7 air war”, will be rare in the same frame. The Armenian Prime Minister, the President of Azerbaijan, who signed the ceasefire agreement at the White House, gathered Tianjin. Whether it was a dead enemy or a friendly partner, all came together and sat at the same table.

This also demonstrates China's dominance over Asia's peace. When the war is over, you can shake your hand and say peace; you can kill your enemy and make your enemy a friend.

Secondly, the strategic dominance of Central Asia began to shift to China. The SCO has almost replaced the "CSTO" and become the strongest security and defense organization in Central Asia. Why? Because of the "Nagorno-Karabakh War" and the "Russia-Ukraine War", the Russian-led CSTO almost collapsed. Originally, Armenia and Azerbaijan were both members of the CSTO. But in 1999, Azerbaijan withdrew, abandoned Russia and defected to Turkey. In 2012, Uzbekistan also withdrew from the CSTO. What about Armenia? After the Nagorno-Karabakh War ended, he was completely disappointed with Russia and once declared that he would withdraw from the CSTO.

After the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the Central Asian region accelerated the "de-Russianization" process. As an alternative? The five Central Asian countries all joined the SCO. Even Belarus, for the first double insurance, joined the SCO. In the South Caucasus region, Armenia and Azerbaijan applied for membership. What is the root behind?

Especially in Central Asia, the economy and military are shifting to the east. Like Uzbekistan, not only did China buy the "KS-1C" medium-range air defense system, but also bought a batch of "Dragon 3" fighters to replace the Russian military industry.

Third, the SCO is shaping the Asia-Pacific strategic pattern. The entire Asia-Pacific region, almost all major countries, are included in the SCO. Turkey in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, Iran, India in South Asia, Pakistan, Vietnam in ASEAN, Indonesia, Kazakhstan in Central Asia and Russia in the north, either have joined the SCO or are applying for membership.

But unlike NATO, it is based on regional peace, and NATO is seeking strategic blockade, suppressing the rise of China and Russia. In the European direction, NATO continues to expand to the east, compromising Russia's strategic space, eventually stimulating the Russian-Ukrainian war. In the East Asian direction, NATO is actively pulling Japanese-Hanfi, engaging in "NATO Asia-Pacificization", provoking the Taiwan Sea and South China Sea disputes, wanting to create a second Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

This has made NATO’s existence very aggressive, it is the product of the cold war legacy, and after the collapse of the Soviet Union, China and Russia became NATO’s strongest target.

And what about the SCO? it is not aimed at any third country, nor is it a military alliance organization. It mainly has three main functions! First, anti-terrorism. Like Afghanistan, it is an observer state of the SCO. What is the “observer state”? It is waiting to be visited, until everyone thinks you are eligible, you can upgrade to “dialogue partner country”. This “dialogue partner country” is the second phase of the visit, it is also a “part-member state” and afterwards, you can formally join. So why can Afghanistan become an “observer state” of the SCO? Because it is too much needed to fight terrorism.

Second, foreign trade. Shanghai is a big stage. China welcomes all countries to bring their own local products to Tianjin and do deals with China. For example, Russia "exchanges oil for industrial products", Vietnam "exchanges market for railways" and Indonesia "exchanges minerals for high-speed rail". What about Iran? I also want to "exchange oil for military industry". China belongs to it. It has capital, technology, market and industry. As long as it is willing to exchange resources, it can trade within the SCO system.

Trump always preaches his "transactional diplomacy." But in reality? The real transaction is not extortion, but fairness, mutual benefit and win-win results.

Third, military exports. The SCO is also a major platform for Chinese military exports. The SCO member states are basically potential big buyers of Chinese-style weapons. Like Pakistan, the five countries of Central Asia, Azerbaijan and Iran, are all big customers of Chinese military industry. Joining the SCO is equal to holding the chinese military industry legs. The only exception is India. Why does China not sell weapons to India?

In fact, Russia is also reversely purchasing China's core components, such as naval engines, chips and other electronic equipment. It can be said that it is sooner or later before Russia purchases Chinese warships.

From a global strategic perspective, abandoning confrontation, promoting diversified cooperation, jointly safeguarding regional security, is more in line with the world’s trends.

Shanghai is leading the new Asia-Pacific security order!
