South Korea's Ministry of National Defense announced on September 1st that as one of the measures to ease military tensions between South Korea and North Korea,The Korean Army has stopped the production and broadcast of the Korean radio "Voice of Freedom" since that day.This is the first time that the South Korean army has stopped broadcasting to North Korea's "Voice of Freedom" since the "Cheonan" incident in 2010.

"Voice of Freedom" is a radio program produced by the Korean Army Psychological Warfare Group from the perspective of psychological warfare against the DPRK. Its main contents include news about the North Korean regime, the development of South Korea, the comparison of the Korean-Korean systems, and the latest popular culture in South Korea.

The South Korean military has interrupted loudspeaker broadcasts to North Korea on the South Korean border since June this year, and later removed loudspeaker equipment to North Korea installed on the South Korean border.

In addition, the broadcast to the DPRK and the TV programs to the DPRK operated by the National Intelligence Agency of Korea also stopped broadcasting in August.
