A newly disclosed report by Iranian intelligence revealed how the Israeli assassination operation was successful, in particular uncovering the inside of the building of Iran¡¯s Supreme National Security Council meeting on June 16 that threatened the assassination of the Iranian president.

The findings showed that Israel would see security guards carrying mobile phones as security weaknesses and thus succeed in tracking and locking important Iranian persons by listening to security cell phones, highlighting Iran¡¯s serious security vulnerabilities.

Earlier this month, the head of the office of the Iranian president said that the Israeli bombing of the building of Iran¡¯s Supreme National Security Council meeting on June 16 was a targeted attack aimed at assassinating President Pezzhiyan.

But under the circumstances of highly tight security measures, how this attack could be carried out has made it difficult toTehranbaffled.

Let's review the entire incident first.

On June 16, the fourth day of the conflict, Iran¡¯s Supreme National Security Council was meeting in a hidden building in western Tehran.

Israel suddenly launched an air strike and was exposed to launch six missiles to attack the entrance and exit of the building, with the intention of blocking the escape route and cutting off air circulation.

After the attack, electricity was interrupted, and senior Iranian officials attending the meeting fled through emergency exit. President Peshe Ziyang suffered minor injuries to his leg during the evacuation.

It is reported that the meeting attended by the president was extremely confidential, and only a few senior officials and military commanders knew the time and place of the meeting. Moreover, the meeting venue was very secluded, located in a bunker 100 feet (about 30 meters) deep below a hillside in western Tehran.

Because it is a confidential meeting, the security is strict.

Given that Israel bombed several Iranian military institutions and nuclear facilities in the first few days of ¡°Flashing¡± Iran, killing several military commanders and nuclear scientists, Iran has taken strict security measures: deploying large numbers of guards, prohibiting senior officials from using mobile phones and instant messaging apps such as WhatsApp, and so on.

On the same day, high-ranking delegations, including President Pence Ziyang, head of justice and intelligence, and senior military commanders, arrived at the venue, knowing they could be tracked by Israeli intelligence, so they did not carry a cellphone.

However, the accident happened.

According to the investigation report, something strange has plagued Iran for more than two months, and it is only now that the mystery has been solved-the original problem lies in the high-level bodyguards.

Even though the government has ordered that the use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited, security personnel still seem to fall on a deaf ear, and even post on social media, exposing the meeting place.

Sassan Karimi, a well-known Iranian political analyst from Tehran University, pointed out that senior Iranian officials and commanders do not carry mobile phones, but their entourage, security personnel and drivers all do. "These people did not take serious preventive measures, resulting in a large number of important Iranian figures being tracked and located by Israel."

An Israeli defense official said proudly: "Using so many bodyguards is a weakness, and this weakness is something we created and can be used by us."

However, Israel did not succeed entirely.While none of the security personnel stationed outside the shelter survived, none of the officials attending the meeting were killed, and it was considered a miracle.

The top priority is to fill the loopholes

Tracking down important Iranian figures through bodyguards is believed to be part of Israel's long-running campaign to infiltrate Iran's security and intelligence agencies.

Since late 2022, Israel has been closely tracking Iran's senior nuclear scientists, but has postponed strikes to avoid conflict with the Biden administration.

From the end of 2022 to June this year, a so-called ¡°cut-off team¡± reviewed the files of Iranian nuclear scientists stolen from Mossad in 2018, reducing the target of assassinations from 400 to 100.

In the end, Israel implemented a plan called "Operation Bloody Wedding"(taken from a bloody plot in "Game of Thrones") and successfully assassinated dozens of Iranian nuclear scientists and senior military generals.

According to the investigation, Israel's "point clearance" operation during the June attack on Iran exposed the existence of serious vulnerabilities in Iran's security system, and the "6/16" attack was also a devastating mistake by Iran.

The investigation report believes that although Iran is aware of the deadly threat from Israel and has ordered a ban on the use of smartphones by the government, senior military officials and nuclear scientists, security personnel such as bodyguards do not seem to strictly abide by this rule.

Even after Israel made a sudden move in June and successively assassinated multiple nuclear scientists and military commanders, it still failed to attract bodyguards to pay attention to the ban, allowing Israel to take advantage of the loopholes in the June 16 attack.

At present, Iran officially bans the use of smartphones by bodyguards, allowing only walkie-talkies.

Iranian political and military analyst Hamze Safawi says Israel¡¯s intelligence and technological advantages have been a ¡°survival threat¡± to Iran and can no longer be neglected.

"There are major vulnerabilities in our security and intelligence systems, and nothing is more urgent than patching them."
