This afternoon (31st), Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Anwar arrived in Tianjin by plane to attend the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit held in Tianjin from August 31st to September 1st.

Anwar recently stated that China is Malaysia's trustworthy friend and partner, friendship with China is the consensus of the Malaysian government and people, and the results of cooperation between Malaysia and China in various fields benefit the two peoples.

China has been Malaysia's largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years. In April this year, the two sides signed the Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visas for Official Ordinary Passports and Ordinary Passport Holders. According to Malaysian statistics, 3.8 million Chinese tourists will visit Malaysia in 2024, and China has once again become Malaysia's largest source of tourists outside ASEAN countries.
