On August 30, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng and his wife Wang Dan were invited to attend the 23rd Washington Chinese Cultural Festival.

Xie Feng said in his speech that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the China People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Eighty years ago, China and the United States coexisted in the same trench to resist aggression and protect peace;80 years later, as the world's two largest economies and permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, China and the United States should have the common well-being of mankind in mind and join hands with other countries to jointly safeguard world peace, stability and development. Conflict and confrontation will only harm others and ourselves, and dialogue and cooperation parties are the people's will. As long as China and the United States adhere to mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, we can find a way for major countries to get along correctly and promote the stable, healthy and sustainable development of Sino-US relations, benefiting both countries and the world!
