On August 30 local time, the health authority of Matruh province in northwestern Egypt said that a passenger train derailed seriously in the province. According to sources from the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population,The accident has resulted in three deaths and 85 injuries.Five of them are seriously injured.

Egyptian Health Minister Jaafar declared that Matruh Hospital had entered the highest level of emergency, and 30 ambulances rushed to the scene to participate in emergency rescue. The State Railway Administration has dispatched technicians and equipment to the scene of the accident to clear the debris in order to resume traffic as soon as possible.

Egyptian Transport Minister Vasil rushed to the scene of the accident and ordered the establishment of a technical committee to determine the cause of the accident.
