Modi arrives in Tianjin and sends a strong signal to China during his visit to Japan

On the evening of the 30th, Indian Prime Minister Modi arrived at Tianjin Binhai International Airport by plane and will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit to be held in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1.

According to Global News, Indian Prime Minister Modi said during his visit to Japan on August 29th thatining close relations with India and the world is crucial for building a multi-polar Asia and the world.The South China Morning Post commented that Modi's speech released a signal of further warming relations with China is one of the strongest positive gestures to China in recent years.

"As the two largest countries in the world, a stable, predictable and friendly bilateral relationship between India and China can have a positive impact on regional and global peace and prosperity." Modi said in an interview. "It is also crucial to building a multipolar Asia and the world."

Modi added, “Given the current world economic turmoil, India and China, as the two major economies, are equally vital to work together to bring stability to the world economic order. India is willing to advance bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective on the basis of mutual respect, mutual benefit and mutual understanding, strengthening strategic communication and jointly addressing development challenges.”

Mr. Modi's visit to Japan on August 29-30, which will be followed by a trip to Tianjin for the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation summit, is seen as a sign of the continued warming of Sino-Indian relations.

China and India are both members of multilateral mechanisms such as BRICS, SCO and G20. The SCO is an important platform for multilateral cooperation between the two countries. China and India are important neighbors of each other, both big developing countries and emerging economies, and are at a critical stage of their respective development and revitalization. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India. The Indian side has previously stated that it is willing to take this opportunity to deepen political mutual trust with China, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in economic and trade fields, enhance people-to-people exchanges, and jointly safeguard peace and tranquility in border areas.
