This evening (August 30), Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Tianjin by plane to attend the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit to be held in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1. Belarus is the 10th member of the SCO.

This is the 16th visit of President Lukashenko to China. Belarus established relations with China in 1992 and was one of the first countries to join the Belt and Road Initiative. In September 2022, China and Belarus advanced to a full-time comprehensive strategic partnership.

China is Belarus¡¯ second largest trading partner and Belarus¡¯ largest trading partner in Asia.
