The 156th China-Laos-Myanmar-Thailand Joint Patrol Law Enforcement Operation on the Mekong River concluded successfully

From August 18 to August 29, the law enforcement agencies of the four countries of China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand successfully completed the 156th China-Laos, Myanmar and Thailand joint patrol and law enforcement operation on the Mekong River and a series of law enforcement exchange activities.

From August 19 to 22, the four countries deployed 7 law enforcement boats and more than 100 law enforcement personnel, using the combination of "part-stage cruise + all-line joint cruise" and "water law enforcement + land synergy", and successfully completed the 156th joint patrol and law enforcement mission of the Mekong River, effectively preventing all kinds of security risks in the basin.

During this period, the law enforcement departments of the four countries held an information exchange meeting in Wanbeng, Myanmar, focusing on the key points of security governance in the Mekong River Basin, and jointly judging the recent outstanding crime situation in the Mekong River Basin.Strengthen information sharing and collaborative investigation of cases, andJoint crackdown on smuggling, kidnapping and extortion, online gambling fraud, etcMultiple consensus has been reached.

China has simultaneously rotated the Chinese duty teams at the China-Laos-Myanmar-Thailand Mekong Joint Patrol and Law Enforcement Points in Mengmo and Ban Sanggo Liaison Points in Laos. Since the last batch of Chinese duty teams stationed in June this year:

Jointly with relevant law enforcement departments of Laos and Myanmar, 8 emergency response drills were carried out in the form of "actual soldiers, facts, real scenes and actual equipment", covering various scenarios such as joint investigation, emergency rescue and emergency case handling;

Organize professional training such as boat handling, equipment maintenance, and 20 bilateral and multilateral law enforcement exchanges such as joint investigation and segmented cruising.

The accumulated inspection of more than 100 ships and more than 2,300 tons of goods continued to maintain a high-visibility rate, effectively deterring various cross-border illegal crimes.

The three parties of China, Laos and Myanmar conducted joint training in the Mengmo waters of the Mekong River to the Jingha waters of China from August 22 to 29 to further enhance the rapid response and efficient handling capabilities of joint response to emergencies in the basin. After the mission, Myanmar's 161 and 162 boats, accompanied by the Chinese 53101 boat, arrived in Jinghong, Yunnan, and officially started a friendly visit to the Water Patrol Corps of the Yunnan Province Public Security Department.
