According to the Russian satellite news agency Tehran on August 29, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi wrote in a letter to UN Secretary-General Guterres that Iran is willing to reach a new nuclear agreement that safeguards the interests and rights of the Iranian people.

Iran reiterated its willingness to maintain constructive diplomatic cooperation in order to reach a new agreement that should not only safeguard the rights and interests of Iran in accordance with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, but also take into account all the concerns of each other, such as sanctions affecting the lives and well-being of the Iranian people.
