UK: No Israeli government delegation invited to London Arms Show

A spokesman for the British government confirmed on August 29 that no Israeli government delegation will be invited to attend the international defense and security equipment exhibition scheduled to be held in London in September.

Agence France-Presse quoted a British government statement on the 29th as saying that "the Israeli government's decision to further escalate military operations in the Gaza Strip is wrong." The British side urged a diplomatic resolution to the current conflict, an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of detainees. More humanitarian aid supplies were sent to the Gaza Strip.

Although Israeli defense enterprises will still be allowed to participate in this biennial expo, the Israeli Ministry of Defense strongly opposed the fact that Israeli officials were not invited to attend the expo, saying that the British restrictive measures constituted "discrimination" and the Israeli Ministry of Defense will withdraw from the expo without setting up a booth.

Earlier, at the Paris-Bursch International Aerospace Exhibition held in June this year, several Israeli companies refused to move offensive weapons, whose exhibition was "closed" by the host to erect a "black wall".

Since the outbreak of a new round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict on October 7, 2023, Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip have caused more than 63,000 Palestinian deaths, and the Gaza Strip has fallen into a serious humanitarian crisis. In the process, Israel received support from the United States, but became increasingly isolated internationally. A group of Western allies of the United States, including Britain, France, Canada and Australia, recently announced plans to recognize the Palestinian state at or before the 80th United Nations General Assembly in September.
