Xinhua News Agency Los Angeles, August 28 (Reporter Tan Jingjing) The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a notice on the 28th to remind that the recent Salmonella epidemic related to contaminated eggs in many states in the United States has approached 100 people.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, at present, 95 people from 14 states are infected with the same Salmonella strain, of which 18 are hospitalized and there are no deaths. The majority of the cases are from California.

The company involved, named "Country Eggs", announced on the 27th that it would recall its eggs that may be contaminated by Salmonella. These eggs are mainly sold to supermarkets and food distributors in California and Nevada.

The disease control center warns the public not to eat the recalled eggs, thoroughly clean the surface of objects or devices that may have come into contact with the eggs.

Salmonella is widely found in domestic and wild animals, and often infects humans through contaminated food. According to the CDC, symptoms of Salmonella infection in humans usually include diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps, etc. Symptoms generally appear within 6 hours to 6 days of exposure to the bacteria. Most patients heal themselves within 4 to 7 days, but children, the elderly, and people with weakened immunity are more susceptible to severe illness.
