Photos of Russian woman trapped at a 7,400-meter peak with her friend's last smile were exposed, and then she was "abandoned" to die, and her friend was also killed

According to British media reports on August 28, a shaken final photo of the Russian climber Natalia Nagovitsina caught up on a remote 24406 foot (about 7437 meters) peak after breaking her leg was revealed.

In the photo, the 47-year-old single-child mother smiled courageously to the camera and her broken leg was fixed with a spare tent bar. At the time, people were still hoping for her salvation.

Unbelievably, after the first publication of the photo in the media, Natalya spent a week together with Italian climber Luca Sinigalia. During that time, she suffered from the cold wind and low temperatures down to 20 degrees Celsius. A week later, people even saw her flying toward a drone.

But despite her extraordinary struggle to survive, rescuers were unable to bring in a helicopter capable of reaching her altitude. Most of the time, the weather was too harsh, but critics insisted that there were short windows of time when the plane and crew could have been ready.

So rescuers tried to climb to where she was.But both attempts ended in failure, one due to a storm and the other due to wounds from the leadership. Two weeks after the accident, her 27-year-old son, Michael, was still crying out, hoping to try again to use drones and helicopters to go to rescue.

But on Wednesday, a drone equipped with a thermal camera detected no signs of life. Unfortunately, this is the second fatality on the disastrous expedition.

West Nicaragua first suffered a freezing injury and swelling of the brain, and after protecting Natalia, leaving her a tent, a gas stove and a sleeping bag for her, he died on his way down the mountain due to heat loss.

Gunter Zigmund, a German climber who also suffered frostbite, managed to descend and was rushed to hospital. He later revealed that the men had spent the night together in Natalia's tent before they tried to descend. "We decided to spend the night with her in the tent," he said. "It was okay, not good, but okay."

On their way down the mountain, they met Russian climber Roman Moklinsky, who recalled Sinigalya's sudden deterioration. He said, "Sinigallia quickly lost control completely, and immediately afterwards, he died in my arms."

Despite West Nicaragua’s unfortunate death, Mocklinsky admitted that at the time he wasn’t too worried about Natalia’s safety at the time, for us, Natasha was okay because we provided her with enough food and gas for a few days.

This 24406 feet high peak is one of the hardest to climb and most dangerous mountains on Earth and has a high mortality rate. It is the northernmost peak of the planet with an altitude of more than 7,000 meters, with extremely short climbing seasons and extremely cold weather. Climbers will experience low temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius, overwhelming snow storms, strong winds and frequent snowfall.
