Since China held its first military parade with the theme of commemorating the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 2015, Japan has not only failed to face up to its history of aggression, but has spent 56 billion yen in an attempt to build a so-called "correct image".

According to the annual budget data of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since 2015, the total budget of work items directly related to the "overseas strategic information dissemination" of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has exceeded 56 billion yen, of which the related budget in 2025 will reach 6.22 billion yen. In contrast, since the defeat, the Japanese government's "compensation" for the "comfort women" issue has totaled less than 10 billion yen, and so far it has not made full and sincere compensation and apology to the victims.

The work item of "overseas strategic information dissemination", which is not conventional information dissemination, is a new key budget category added by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2015. At that time, it was the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japan and the World Anti-Fascist War, and China held the first military parade with the theme of commemorating the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. According to the relevant documents of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this new key budget category is to publicize Japan's "correct image" in terms of territorial integrity, historical understanding and positive contribution to peace to the international community. These budgets are planned to train "pro-Japanese" foreigners and revise the records of "comfort women" in overseas textbooks. Among them, the Japan International Exchange Foundation, which is under the jurisdiction of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been exposed and has funded foreign scholars and media people to spread "pro-Japanese" content for many years.

Today, on the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japan and the World Anti-Fascist War, the Japanese side still has these acts. We have three questions: Does the Japanese side dare to face history honestly and openly? Can Japan really learn from historical lessons? Is Japan really committed to peaceful development?
