On August 23, the Financial Union News Agency reported that the New York State Police said that on the afternoon of the same day, a tourist bus overturned on the New York State Interstate Highway and crashed into a roadside ditch, causing five deaths and dozens of injuries.

New York state police said on social media that the bus crashed on the way from the famous Niagara Falls to New York City. At least 30 people werely sent to two hospitals with injuries ranging from serious to mild, including head injuries, internal injuries and fractures.

At present, the police have dispatched two cranes and four helicopters to participate in the rescue. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. The driver was "distracted, lost control, overcorrected and ended up on the right shoulder of the road," the police said.
